Fondant au Chocolat: Recipe & Pictures (US Version)
I made a cake for a friend this weekend, for her birthday... a 'fondant au chocolat', and I took some photographies, please be nice because it's really hard to take photographies of food !!
This is how it looks at the end !!
here below are the components you need:
300 g of chocolat like that (55%...perfect!)
5 eggs
150 g of sugar
And some flour
And, now how to process:
1° cut the chocolate in a casserole in parts like this
and recover with water almost all chocolate like this
2° let the chocolate melt down, remove from the fire
3° when the chocolate is colder, pour it into a bigger recipient
4° add first the sugar
5° then the yellow of eggs
6° then add one by one 5 spoons of flour, and mix the preparation like this
7° beat the eggs white, and insert slowly & mix without breaking the eggs white into the chocolate preparation
the color of the preparation should look like that:
8° make heat the oven like that (30 minutes, 200°C)
9° when the oven is enough warm, pour the chocolate preparation into a dish, and place it into another bigger one with water inside, like this
this is called "bain-marie"
10° to know if the cake is ready, insert a knife into the cake, if the blade comes back without any trace of chocolate, you can stop the oven.
11° place the cake into a fridge during about 3 hours, and eat as you prefer it, frozen, cold, or "warmer"...
and enjoy !!
