San Francisco, gate to Pacific Ocean (1)
This is a picture I took from the plane as you can see, and offers to our eyes many of the nice places to be and to see in San Francisco.
I spent over there about a year and a half of my life. I didn't see everything, but I have some nice advice for you if you want to see with another view, a bit far from the postcard.
Firstly, the Golden Gate Bridge ...
Most of tourists use to take pictures on the first pillar (from the SF side). I know it's quite impressive when you first drive on the bridge, when you can see above your head these majestic and heavy red cables...
Some others use to go to the other extrem pillar, off SF city, where there is as well an ancient fortress that army used many times during history.
Actually, this view is better because when you take pictures, you have on the foreground, this red pillar that seems to be on the same height as you... and the pictures offers another perspective, quite interesting (see below)
Sometimes, if you're lucky or come during summer season (unlike you think july and august are not hot and sunny, but sometimes cold and foggy...), you can have this view:
the Golden Gate Bridge pillar with fog all around !!!
But, one of the most impressive view and not touristic vista is that one below:
Ok, with still fog around... but it gives some kind of charming, romantic atmosphere, no ? I try...sorry
I discovered this view thanks to friends. I don't remember very well, but if you want to go there, you have to drive over the bridge, and just before you start to climb towards Sausalito, Tiburon (very nice places by the way), there are a signal & and a road on the right which makes you cross over the road where you're from, and leads you until you reach a dead end road, on the heights.. that's here, you park your car, and you see that fantastic view of the bridge !!
that's enough for today...
Let's play together will you? Do you know why the color of the bridge is red?
ciao
