L'Abbaye aux Hommes

This abbey (the right part of the monument on the picture here below) is now used as a city hall.
The city hall is the left part of the monument, which looks like a normal building.

This is one the many Caen religious buildings.

It's also one of the places where inhabitants found a shelter during the massive bombings during WW II, which led to a massive destruction after its liberation by US soldiers in 1944.

This is the tomb of William the Conqueror (but since some invasion during Middle Age period, I guess i remember there's only left one single piece of his skeleton, the rest of it was scattered by invadors)

This is another religious building in front of the Abbaye aux Hommes but still remained as destroyed as during WW II. However, it seems some restoration program has been launched since few years ... and it seems it's a real big pain to restore it !!
